Me s2k Vs. M3 drop top
Got to get 2 runs. First run I had a big disadvantage (aside from the fact I'm playing with a faster car). He pulled onto spree-way with me following, held about 5mph for a few seconds, and then hit it. My reaction time could have been better, he pulled REAL good till 1st gear vtec. Close to the end of 3rd and end of entrance ramp he had probably a good ~6-7 cars on me.
Got up next to him, gave a he returned the gesture and we slowed for a group of cars. I filter in behind him again, few minutes later traffic opened up, 3rd 80mph roll, I timed the start perfect this time (mind you I started ~2 cars back) and stayed evenish until 115ish where we both let off. Gave another with a smile, he did same, and I exited.
This is my first encounter with a M3 and yes he did rev on me first before we got on the spree-way, no need to pick fights I will most likely loose. Both had top up and driver only, I wish when we went from a roll he would have waited for me to get beside him so it would be easier to judge the few inches pulled back and forth. I don't know the M series line up well, it looked like a newer one. Nice looking too. Curious for times on a new M3 rag top?

LOL sorry did not notice that, pasted right off of C&D website, I just saw the 1/4 and 0-60 and cut pasted entire list of stats.

Anyone have correct #'s?
*Edit did some more searching, seems the 1/4 mile time is just about spot on give or take .1 secounds. The missprint seems to be on the 0-100 .... So I will look for this guy, and hopefully get to run from a dig, seems it weighs in around 3750ish

According to your false stats, it takes an M3 1.2 seconds to go from 100 to 104... I think not
0 to 100 12.4 seconds....1/4 mile 13.2 @ 103 mph.
or how about the porsche gt3 0 to 100 8.8 seconds
1/4 mile 12.3 @ 118 mph.
or the compech s/c acura cl.....0 to 100 13.2 seconds
1/4 mile 14.2 @ 104 mph.
These where all found in the latest car and driver issue. I think if ya look around you will see that this is very very commen.

the m3's shift points are about the same as mine and i know at 100mph i can be in 3rd gear with room to grow, so 1.2 seconds isn't accredited to shifting and therefore it's a mispring

Running the numbers, the E46 M3 should be able to hit 102 mph in 3rd gear if you shifted right at 8000 rpm. So, another shift may have been necessary to get to 104-105 mph in the 1/4.

They ARE mid/high 13 second cars and have TONS more low-end power & torque, so you might not want to be in such a hurry to go from a dig....
