M3 meets GT3

Nice video.
Amazing to see how easily the GT3 was pulling on the straights! Guy looked like he was saving his rubber though through the bends. All in all chance of a life time getting behind one on the track that would let you hang with it!

Notice where you go down hill at the hairpin and then up hill...
You did notice how much of a head start he had too... I had to pass the Boxster and then catch up... Although the GT3 braked more and earlier probably because it takes an advantage driver to drive a porsche thru corners really fast, but you can clearly see how his acceleration compared to mine, for that short period of time in that straight leading to the kink and that was in excess of 100 mph... and then again, he got to accelerate quicker coming off the hill...
If you can accelerate quicker coming out of a corner then you have an advantage if the other person comes slower out of a corner...
these are things I'm learning from attending driving schools... This was a driving school not a race by the way, so he wasn't trying to save any rubber...
The reason the gap closed so fast is because I got on the level section and while he was preparing for the next corner and braking, I was still accelerating...Then I braked late with the Brembos and took it in...

Now, the GT3 is a bad car..lightweight and all...
Some test timed its 0-60 times at 4 seconds flat! The driver was driving solo since this was the advanced/immediate group... He also drove the solo only group too...

Ced, what do you think about the 993 Turbo S as a track car... or is the GT3 better all around.

I came across a race prepped 993 Turbo S a couple years back...
My buddy Lee has a X5 4.6 L / with some mods, and I told him how bad my 04 M3 would smash on his X5. So he invited me to auto x, now I'm looking into 993 Turbo S for a lil project this coming summer... I'll be rallying w / the Ferrari guys. I know the 993 Turbo S hits 0-60 in 3.8 and 1/4 mile in 12.1-12.2 at 116-118... Porsche is the best handling cars I've driven, I'm gonna smash on the Ferrari's.
