Once I picked my girl up from the airport, and her square suitcase wouldn't fit in the trunk. She refused to let me bungee the trunk, and insisted it would be okay on her lap -- it's only a short drive. Well, she ended up having the big, heavy suitcase resting against her face for most of the trip, top down. She was extremely uncomfortable, people laughed at us, and we were both laughing so hard we were crying.
She let me use the bungee the next time.

Unfortunately I too used to share the same attitude about civics versus my s. Recently I just completed my winter car which is a 93 civic cx hatchback with a b18c1 I/H/E, computer and I hate to say it but it pulls harder than my s. It is quite unassuming on the road and other than a slightly larger than stock exhaust tip no one has any idea especially with the 13 inch steel honda wheels with wal mart tires but it flies. People don't even want to race b/c they think it is such a POS. I weighed it the other day and with me in the car it topped out at 2440. Some of the extra weight is related to suspension components I changed. As soon as the weather breaks I plan on shooting a video of a quarter mile run of the hybrid versus my s. It will probably be close. I really would never look down at a civic but on the other hand I would never give up the s for even a 12 s civic.

No one was doubting what civics are capable of.
Me and another S2K raced a civic hatch the other night with a b16 engine in it, knowing full well we might get absolutely demolished. And he did beat us.

Man, I don't know what year. It was old. He had built a custom Tranny for it, and he said it only tops out at like 110-120 or so, so it must have real low gearing. I think he said something like a b20 engine with b16 heads or something like that. I don't know what the hell he was talking about. One of his friends mentioned it was an Si engine. *shrugs* He might have had more done to it, but all he mentioned was intake and exhaust.

It's to bad that he didn't want to play. It would have been a good time.
I had a guy in a mustang race me and I won. It wasn't the best place to do it but he gave me the thumbs up so I was happy...Not bad for a girl I guess.
To bad about the suitcase.
