I don't consider Z06 (or even the regular C5) a muscle car.

I really don't either, but given the other posts in this thread that lump all LS1 powered cars together as GM muscle cars, that is why I did as well.

Now that car in your avatar, is that more of a muscle car or a pure corner-carver? I would have to say probably both.....

wesmaster and wisconsin,

ok, i'm not even close to having the knowledge you guys have of cars, so please be gentle with the replys (i'm sensitive..hahah). here goes: wesmaster is in tx and wisconsin is in, ahem, wisconsin. there is a big temperature diff between the two (depending on the time of year of course). what i do know about cars/bikes is that motors will run faster/better when it's cooler...sometimes a big difference too. would that be one of the reasons wisconsin can post faster times than the "norm" for 1/4 mile?

remember, be gentle! me is be unintellegable with cars!

I'm not sure what the elevation is for Wisconsin but cars also run MUCH better at SEA LEVEL which is pretty much where Houston sits.

Cool temperatures at seal level = optimal performance.

good point glen, forgot about that. (see, not good with this stuff...haha)

glen, did you get a chance to check out wisconsin's video with his 1-4th gear run? very nicely done!! the run was flawless (great launch, quick shifts....flawless). hmm...i guess i should put it here. oh well...

what i do know about cars is that none are ever the same. some are faster than others. in road and track, august 2001 (???? i have the page at home...ripped it out last month when i saw it waiting for food at a carry-out) they have the S at 5.2 0-60 and 13.82 1/4, trap was just over 100 i believe (should really look at it again). those stats are pretty good, considering the other's i've seen around.

just my 2cents.

mystic_350.. I had the '97 Super Sport Camaro.. Sorry.. It was definitely faster than the Z28.. It had all the SLP options including the Level III Bilstien race suspension.. If you don't believe that there was any HP gains, call a rep @ SLP.. They will tell you..

I am on your side though. The 30th Anniversary package on the Z28 was purely cosmetic. The Super Sport on the other hand was straight performance..

Since you own a Z28, I am sure you know that.. Maybe you just misread my post.
