I think just having the top up will take car of most of the problems, given the seals aren't compromised... Hardtop would be nice - anything to have the car slip through the wind... That's the fastest I've ever taken her, with no plans for another cannonball run anytime soon...
I think the majority of S2Ks out there (with competent drivers behind the wheel) can take a Type S anywhere from 0 - 100 mph... But top down, the higher you go, the harder it is for our cars to reach those speeds (unless it's No2'd, SC'd, or TB'd...)
