That's where I draw the line Rick. Your behavior has definitely crossed over into irresponsible, unethical, and immoral territory
Objectively speaking, the clear answer is black/black.

Driving at 140 mph in a s2000 is safer than driving 80mph in a 85 Ford Escort IF CONDITIONS ALLOW! Driving 80-85 in a vehicle of the calibar of a 85 ford escort happens more often than people traveling 140mph. Ever drive a 15 year old econo car in traffic these days? I think most people are sensible enough not to be blasting down the highway at a buck forty if conditions aren't right, and there is no excuse to do this in even moderate traffic...
Unless you are on a sportbike and can weave in and out of traffic, using the shoulders and on ramps as run off room...

Funny thread,
You all got to be kidding right? S2K will not lose to a CL-S or TL-S. Give me a break, I have driven all three and the CLs or TLs is not in the same class. If any of you think otherwise, you are smoking some serious dope.

It's no joke... Like I said in the original posting, the top was down and it was a windy day, producing a lot of cockpit turbulence. But don't fool yourself thinking that our cars are strong at top speeds with the top down... They're not... You're killing the coefficient drag (probably by 40-50%; perhaps in the .40 - .42 range) with the top down, and with the little torque that our cars produce, they lose a lot at high speeds with the top down... And to vet my experience, I also drive my friends's MY01 S2K quite often, so I don't think I have a particularly "slow" S2K... Nevermind my growing appreciation for a 260 bhp V6 with real torque (not that I'd ever trade my S2K for one...)

I agree with you on the drag coefficient. Since the S2K is a convertible and drag plays a major factor with top speed. I assume that you can have a hard cover put on the S2K? So CD does not come into play as much.
FYI: My car will eat the CLs or TLs for lunch.
