Rich- Those times are "magazine times," meaning they don't reflect what the car will really be capable of, but are basically made up by the magazine staff through a series of "tests" that make it easy to make one car look better than another. Magazine times are only good for the roughest guesses, because they can be off by as much as a full second.

yeah true but even so on a rough guess the S2000 is faster and they are what people have done in those cars so it has some amount of accuracy. as they are quite close surely it must be put down to a drivers race? on a 1/4 mile the aversge time is about 14dead on, what is t for the RX-7?

Well Rich 4 S2000 if it was against your friends 10 second S2000 that has never run on a real track but runs on public roads (some of which run under bridges) I bet it would not even be a contest.

hahah...Rich, I just have to ask. What is it with your grudge against RX-7s?? It almost sounds as if you recently got beaten by one real badly. 
There's really no point to this thread, since the majority seem to agree and accept the simple fact of the matter, that the rx-7 is faster than a s2000...period.
But seriously...who really cares though? People who buy the S2000 didn't buy it because they're looking only for hardcore speed.

i dunno where my rx-7 grudge came from
maybe i just find it hard to believ that a car that looks sooo good (S2000) isnt as fast as a car that looks a little lame(rx-7)

rx7's are amazing.. i was thinking about buying one for a project drag car(since i wont dare to mod the M).... but i cant find one with low miles.... so where can i look? and whats a good year?
