well the other toy in my garage is my dad's 89 GT w/ 115K miles and over 500 rwhp for about 80K of those miles- w/o any serious problems- just another Ford p.o.s. I guess.
You should really be engineering cars or something and putting your vast knowledge and experience to use . I hear Matel is looking for a few good men to design their new hotwheels.

P.S - No there aren't only Fords in my garage- a New Infinity G35 is on order

The only thing I don't like about Ford is their dealer service... Of course I've never been all that happy with any other dealership either.

And it runs beautifully. Now show me your <1965 Honda.
that 64.5 sounds like a garage queen. original miles are probably nil.

sure, there are tons of collector quality mustangs out there. not too many were daily drivers, though.

your post raised this question: by "show me your (as in my) 1965 Honda", do you mean my personal one? mr. alex you are simply pointing out "an" example of a classic mustang, not "your" personal 1964 1/2. if you want a perfect example of a 1965 honda how's this?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...2400413120&rd=1

you ever own a ford or even rented one for any length of time, (not borrowed a buddy's modded fr500) i mean really had to use one on a daily basis? i have and they suck!... exploders with bad trannies, taurus with uncomfortable seats, windstars with bad heads, escorts with bad everything....

to be sure, honda is not the "be all, end all" in the automotive world. i have owned six or seven of them, and a couple of them have been less than sterling examples of what you would expect from a honda. but i would take my chances with almost ANY japanese make/model over ANY Ford branded product (including some of their PAG brands), in terms of reliability, comfort, value and durability.

i'm no hondanista, but i wouldn't clear space in my driveway for a ford, unless it was a big $$$$ cobra

All this talk about high mileage cars with high horsepower is stupid.

Seriously, a Ford with 110k mile and 80k mile with 500+ hp may sound impressive. Now, lets look at the facts, how many times out of that 80k mile has it seen 500+ hp? What do I mean by that? Simple, how many times has it been raced? Auto X'ed, Drag raced, etc, etc.. It is irrelavant how many hp a car has unless it is being used... i.e WOT. You can make a 10sec RX7 run for 50k miles if all you do is drive it daily with short periods of WOT. Now take that 10sec RX7 and drag race it for a season. You will put like 5 miles of drag racing and the car will BREAK DOWN.

As you can see, there is a substantial difference between RACED miles and DAILY driven miles.

Good point S4_dukar, I can assure you the mustang was raced- It has about 20 11 second passes at e-town to its credit and is consistently driven hard through out the week. Good maintenance and a slightly conservative tune have contributed to its longevity

Ace10 - 1st funy thing you said all day- Don't worry, rumor has it daddy won a spelling bee in 3rd grade.

Point is that any car can last as long as you want it to. If you take care of it, it'll last.
Not a FIAT or a Yugo.
