First Race in the C5
i was driving home from my girlfriends house down brookhurst.. and what do you know.. a yellow corvette c5 coupe pulls right up next to me... its some middle aged guy and he looks at me.. and i look at him... but my last car was an auto.. and im not professional at driving a stick yet... so when the light turned green i didnt wanna run because i dont quite know how to launch my car yet... so we were cruising at around 40mph..... then he punched it and so did i....at first he was a little ahead because he initiated the race.. but i started pulling till at the end he was just a few feet behind my rear bumper....
so what gives? he shifted at nearly the exact same time i did... and neither of us missed a gear.. oh and the funniest thing was this mr2 turbo with a very loud blowoff valve raced with us.... both of us were kinda laughing about it cuz he got beat so bad... guy gave me the thumbs up and i went home.... i know this story is lame but thanks for reading it... I LOVE MY CAR... i miss my stang.. BUT I LOVE MY CAR!!!

he most likely had an auto 'vette...that's why you pulled on him. I used to have a '00 C5 Coupe exactly like you have (mine was a absolute piece of shi#....long story...hope you didn't buy MY old one ) and I seem to recall that the manual transmission was about 0.5 seconds quicker in the 0-60 sprint.

Congrats on the kill, and though you don't own an S2k, I am sure you are welcome here just as much as any other non-S2k owner. IMO, this forum seems to be the most entertaining and have some of the best stories on the 'net. I have no problem reading non-S2k stories.

Hello 2k1gt
I have a supercharged S2000 and been looking for a stock C5 for a friendly race. Some people on this board think that a stock C5 will murders a SC S2000. Since you are in Westminster and I am also currently in Westminster, do you want to do a couple friendly runs?
