I'm not sure what you mean... Are are you refering to a 6 cyl.? As bullitts are GTs with merely a different intake, so it still has 8 cyl.

And if you mistyped and meant to say "06," then you are mistaken, they haven't come out with late model bullitts yet.

If anything it's a driver's race leaning o so slightly in the S's favor for weight advantage.
I didn't see Bullitt Mustang in that post...just Mustang. I must be running into some terrible pre 06 GT drivers in Orlando. I'm an Ok driver with some experience and on several occasions it's been my great pleasure to introduce them to vtec

It was a Bullitt. It's in the topic, should have stated that in the post itself

That's the result I was expecting from the race (even or a slow crawl).

given two identical cars, a 2 mph speed advnatage will never be overcome, and every second, you'd put 3 feet on the other car. And realistically, if you would have passed him in less than ten seconds, you havd more than a 2 mph advantage. Ten seconds is a long time, in a moving car. Especially in a race.

I think you just under-estimated the extent of the upper hand you had on him.
Or maybe... I estimated the speed advantage correctly and my car was actually faster. Like I said...
I'm fairly certain I would have walked the Mustang had he waited for us to line up. I got the feeling the Mustang driver felt the same way because he wanted absolutely nothing to do with me after the that encounter.
Also, if I was closing on the Mustang and I started after him (remember, he was in front of me at the stop sign), not only did I have a speed advantage, but we can assume I had an acceleration advantage as well. This fact coupled with my weight advantage and countless other variables makes your static "3 feet per second" physics model completely useless.

Now please, go away.

I'm thinking it was a dark green color, but could have been grey I can't really remember. It was on Ben Hill Griffin Rd, pulling out of FGCU in South Fort Myers. If it was your friend I'd be interested to hear his perspective on the encounter.
