stock for stock the s2000 has no chance against a properly driven e46 m3 from a 80mph roll...those things really move out at those speeds....to answer the OP's question the m3 wasn't in the right gear, or maybe the guy just couldn't put the pedal to the metal cuz he was having a cramp in his calf

The first three gears in the E46 M3 are pretty strong...especially 2nd and third. It could have been an SMG car in 'normal' mode vs. like S6...in that range he should have pulled you without any trouble.

An 80mph roll is about your best bet to keep up with a stock E46 M3.. but he still should have pulled.

I was behind him going about 80 mph an hour, we went up to 110 mph. we didn't line up or anything( He had a passenger ). 80 to 110 (I started in 3rd gear) he didn't pull on me and I didn't pull on him. it looked like it was a good match.
My question is, is this a normal outcome or did he just use his 5th gear instead of 3rd and 4th?
I was expecting him to pull at least 3 to 4 cars. My car has only 204 hp.

or maybe the guy was just cruising and you couldn't pull on him?
I had an e46 m3 before I got my s2000. It felt a lot quicker.
