Zoran is correct. R6e36, No one here on this board has given you any kind of bad attitude. Almost everyone gave you a "nice kill" comment. I can also confirm that the e36 M3 and s2000 should have very similar performance. No one is doubting that what you did is impossible. Just that the possibility you will repeat it is very unlikely. I also don't approve of the other guy's attitude and i can see why you have a bit of attiutude urself because you really nailed him. I'm just saying you'll be hella surprised what a good driver can do in a stock s2k. Peace.

Having owned both cars, they are pretty even although they both feel quite different behind the wheel.
But, with a few simple bolt-ons, an extra 20 hp and 20 lb ft of tq makes the M3 consistently faster. I had a guy in a white one here in town go at it with me a few weeks ago. I walked away slowly to about 90. Not a thrashing, but at no time did he gain.
I'll be knocking at the 300 hp door in a few months, and there should be no question then.

I am not saying that there is a bad attitude on this entire board, in fact I appreciate some of the nice and reasonable replys. I respect the S2k for what it is, a nimble and well balanced drop top. In fact I am planning to buy one myself this summer, that is why I am lurking here. I am just saying that most S2k owner imediately dismiss that their car can be beat by any other cars no matter what the circunstance and start saying:
"5 cars with the older m3... you must be crazy!! "
"Is your M3 stock? There is no way that a stock E36M3 could gain 5 carlengths on an S2k @100mph"
I am not saying that I will beat any S2k I will ever encounter sinve the drivers and the condition can change the outcome. But I can tell you that I have beat most of these young s2k drivers with attitudes
Some of the things to have in mind is that althought the S2k and the E36 M3 have very close published time in acceleration. However what you guys don't realize is that to repeat the best time in a S2k is almost impossible because it requires more driving skill and shifting skills and have to really beat the car hard to get those kind of numbers while the E36 M3 is much easier to get those numbers everytime. Another thing, although both the S2k and M3 are rated at 240HP, the M3 3.2l motors is known to be underrated from the factory. I dynoed my car before any of my Mods when it was competely stock on a dynojet and I got 220RWHP and 223RWTQ while most stock S2k dyno sheet I've seen is betwee 195 to 215RWHP. On my last trip to the drag strip last summer I did a 13.7@103MPH run with just the CAI and exhaust on street tires and a hot 85 degree day.
