E36 M3 Kill
My buddy with a supercharged del sol met some guys with an M3 the other night in Westchester NY that wanted to race. I line up with the M3 on a deserted road, reved to about 7500 and launched on him. We were pretty even through 1st and then I pulled away in 2nd when I heard him crunch the shift. So we lined up again. This time I got the hole shot on him and pulled to about a nose in front after 1st and stayed in front through third until we had to slow down. It was close but a win is a win.

I find it so interesting that two cars with such diverse power delivery characteristics are so even in straight line acceleration.
I've raced my 'old' S2k in my M3, and it was pretty even, unless the S2k botched the launch.
