If we are going to take one track and pronounce a car to be better then the s2000 was 1 second faster then the C5 Corvette around Nurburgring, and you cannot argue that there is a better track in the world.

Chris,

First of all, thanks for keepin' my post alive! Althought I'm confused by a couple of your posts, you have the right to your opinion.

When I posted this thread I was a little hot from being bugged about the racing thing so much, so I admited in later posts that it came across wrong (a pitty that letters don't carry voice inflection). In my later posts I tried to clarify what I really meant in my original post...do a little reading.

The S2000 will hang with your average Camaro, Firebird, and Mustang, but of course the SE versions or modified cars can give a very different outcome. My problem is that I don't really even care to drag-race because my car is not a drag-car, and if I do drag-race I prefer to race a car that was set-up the way my car was set-up. Even if I win it's no biggie to me because it didn't really take that much skill (not that drag-racing doesn't take skill, but it's not on par with roadcourse driving in my opinion).

I'm also bitter (no, really?) at the Domestic automakers for perpetuating the lack of quality out of greed. You made several comments I could post replies to but it will suffice to say that I know the F-body cars are "beneath" the Imports as far as quality, but that is a reflection of THE CAR, not the driver, in the same way as the S2000 is beneath the Saleen 351 in 0-60, 1/4 mi, and top speed. These are reflections of the car's themselves, not the drivers. Don't take it so personal.

Andrew

That's the one thing that really does suck about email and posts, sometimes it really is hard to convey the true tone of what you mean.

Just b/c you don't like someone's car, it doesn't mean you have to be a prick about it. Not everybody wants or can afford an import, so they buy what they like within their budget. How boring would it be if everybody had the same taste and cars.

I don't knock others' cars b/c I wouldn't appreciate somebody doing it to mine. I'd hate for S2k owners to become regarded as a bunch of snobs.

Just went up against a Mustang Cobra tonight (on the freeway). He was nice enough to let me have a good look at his tail lights. Both him and I enjoyed the run, and stopped at a gas station after and talked about our cars. One thing he did say is that he wouldn't want to play with me on a winding road.
