I agree, some of these guys talk about about these monster benz's like they are slow, as if a 11.7 1/4 is no problem, or about how they take them out by 3 car length's...they are crazy...good to see someone else who actually gets it

Compare to the SL600 or SL55 AMG if you'd like to save $50,000+ and give up 0.3 seconds to 60MPH

I drove one when I worked for Mercedes Benz, the torque is so much that it almost hurts. That car rips on the freeway, mash it and you will leave everything else like it is standing still. Unbelievable car!!!

[QUOTE=Z33 KRN,Jan 20 2005, 12:05 PM] I am only saying this because from what ive been hearing the new Z06's are going to be running 11'z rite outa the box meaning that a mercedes supercar and the vette will be rite there with each other in straightline.

Along with that fact that sl65 is still just around a viper's level with insane amounts of more power behind it. and also I Dont own a s2k, but I own a 350z.... and with a full boost turbo on drag slicks, yes you can hit 11'z.... that is why I was expecting LOW LOW 11'z or potential 10z.... especially with 700+ pounds of torque which is insane....

You wont see an SL65 in the 10s. Its just too damn heavy. It may have a planetload of torque, but its moving a LOT of weight.
SL65s are doing mid-high 11s on stock tires, with 100 octane in the tank. With a modified ecu, they might knock a few tenths off, but not enough for tens, I dont think.
