Default "Criminal" speeding ticket

I was not traveling that fast, but managed to get a criminal speeding ticket. What can I expect in court? Do Judges even listen to you, or do they treat "guilty until proven innocent"?

Talk to a lawyer. He shouldn't have any problem knocking this down to something "non criminal". And maybe even knock it out of the moving violation range.

LB
how did you get that? Were you speeding at over 100mph?

I didn't really do anything to deserve this ticket.

The officer wrote "100MPH+" on the ticket. He says he clocked me on radar... which to me would seem difficult to do, since he was travelling the opposite way on the interstate. I treated him with the upmost respect, and had all my papers ready so it didn't look like I was going for a gun or anything. My driving record is SPOTLESS, and I've never been to jail or lost my license.

Does anyone know of a good lawyer in AZ?

Moving radar is not exactly new technology. I don't understand the part where you say you didn't deserve to get the ticket. Are you innocent? If so, you should have asked to see the radar readout at the time. Now, whether you were doing 100 or not, you will need a lawyer to get out of this with a whole skin. A good lawyer is going to cost you about $250 an hour so she is asking for 3 hour fee up front. You know what your insurance cost is going to do with the ticket. You just have to do a quick cost/benefit analysis on the price of a lawyer. Good luck. I have a feeling you're going to need it. Keep us posted on your progress. I really enjoy these stories when I'm not paying the bill.

Sorry to leave out so many details, but I get this trange feeling that the officer is on-line & is going to tell the judge that I'm guilty because I bragged about it on the Web. I was MAYBE 5MPH faster than the flow of traffic... can't say too much more than that. I think he picked me out because I exited the freeway very quickly (to patronize a McDonald's).

My California plates didn't help either...
