The C5 will get tremendous gas mileage on the freeway. I cruse at around 950 RPM at 65.
As for the S2000 beating a C5 ain't going to happen without a 70 year old lady driving the vette or the vette feeling under the weather.
I have both a S2000 and C5 and would not begin to try and compare the two. Corvette enthusiast also ask me to compare the two, you cannot and should not. They are both great cars for what they are designed for, that is why I would own both.
As for this race, you probably raced a L98 which was in the '91 corvette (if previous body style, the body style was the same from 1991 till 1996, but went through 4 different engines). It had around 245 horsepower; however, this still would be a good race because how the corvette is set up. I don't believe you should pull two cars lengths on any vette after 1968, if they are "healthy" and I stress "healthy."
If you did as you say great race.

That makes since it was an LT1, let's just say if you came across a well driven LS1 6-Speed from a roll, at the end you might not even see the vette!!
I mean the simple fact is 2.0L 200RWHP 140RWTQ is not going to beat a 5.7L 320RWHP 350RWTQ in any battle.

My dads old 01 C5 made 323RWHP and 347RWTQ at Houston Performance so that is what I am talking about. It was a 6-Speed. Considering his car traped 110 bone stock and most S2000's trap about 97-98 yea the Vette just might be out of sight. If you could not tell I was sarcastic you are are a retard!! If you look in MM&FF the 02 SS they tested made 342RWTQ so my #'s are not very off at all. Your Z-28 was a weak car to only make 321 with those mods, most of my buddies 01+ LS1 cars make close to 330 stock, I actually had a buddy make 336RWHP with a drop in filter. Does this make any SENSE to you?

Well.. gas mileage... C5s get very very good gas mileage. We can't really compare driving habits.. but I get 17 mpg in the city... but thats because I go wide open throttle most of the times and usually keep my rpm above 2000. However, one can use the posted mpg..... do the research and find out that mpg are about the same between the S2000 and C5.
LS1 usually will dyno about 320-330 rwhp. I am not sure about torque. But its in the 300 range. Ohh btw... Camaro (SS) and Corvette (C5 LS1) has the same engine and dyno the same horse power .

Well, if it's any consolation, if you round by up by 5's, we too would have a Five-O. Well, actually, it'd be a Zero-Point-O, so we'd have to limit it to only rounding up. Yah. Up. That's a nice number. Five-O.
