the car did not look crushed. the driver side looked intact. and they should have had there seat belts on right... maybe they were just really old.

it's sad to see.

I'm wondering if they had open-face or fullface helmets? I heard the impact on airbags on fullface helmet is very strong.

The car hit the wall at over 150 mph, closer to 165. Passenger died instantly, driver died at the hospital. A Ferrari came onto the track right in front of him. He swerved, spun and hit the wall head on.

The GT is not the easiest car to drive. I'd bet that most owners would not know how to drive it on the street the way it could be driven.

Hitting a still object head on at 150mph is not survivable, seatbelts or airbags notwithstanding. Simply too much energy too fast for our bodies to absorb.

maybe they were just really old
I was gonna drop the usual "use a little tact" BS politically correct response to this statement. But then I got to thinking: If it's your time to go, why not behind the wheel of an exotic sportscar at a racetrack than some slow medicated death for cancer or cardiac disease.

yeah i shouldn't have said that.

but they didn't hit it straight on. it looked like they scrapped the wall for about 15ft. maybe spinning too. so it was not an abrupt stop.

but i do apologize. no disrespect intended.
