c5 coupe vs. s/c s2k
on a 2 lane highway and we both got ahead of traffic after a light turned green. he punched it around 55-60 and i did the same. i started out about 4 cars behind him since he cleared traffic a second before i did. After a few moments i was gaining on him at 90 mph with my top down then i see him brake and i figured i made my point so i let off too. he guns it again out of nowhere so the same thing happens i start reeling him in but this time he doesnt stop and takes it to around 120. i could have passed him easily it seemed. (but im always afraid that if something bad is going to happen, it wll happen to the guy in front.) i kept my distance all the way to the next light, it was yellow and there was no chance of making it so i slow down and think i might be able to talk to this guy. guess again. he blows through the red light. the end.
my car is stock except for the vortech w/ ac setup. the vette had some sort of aftermarket exhaust and that was all i could tell.

You know if it was an auto or stick?
how much boost do you run with your setup
cool...now try racing a C6

He might not have downshifted. Some drivers are lazy that way. The low end power of standard C5's are really close to the low end of the C5 Z06 on a dyno. They don't separate much until rev's rise.

A z06 is nite/day faster than a regular C5. With shorter gears and a more power its almost a full second quicker in the quarter. Try running a few and see for yourself. The C6's are a little slower below 100 but definately quicker up top.... but i've only raced a few
