I just broke 1,000 miles last week and while I was driving on the freeway (75mph), a white Integra (possibly a Type R) and a blue CL pull up on both sides. Then the guy in the Integra revs up, probably revmatching for a downshift, and both of them take off. At this time, I didn't even know I broke 1,000. I checked the odometer and it read a little over 1,000, so without further hesitation, I downshifted to to fourth and enjoyed my S2K's first VTEC. Before I knew it, I was 2 cars up on the CL (lost sight of the Integra behind another car) doing 105 in fifth. Unfortunately, my exit came up so I shifted up to sixth and slowed down to get off the freeway . . .

It was pretty exhilarating to finally run my car in VTEC. Unfortunately, the whole 105 mph thing is probably what caused the f*ckin' PIT IN MY WINDSHIELD.

Get over it. Things can be much worse. Your car is new and into VTEC finally. Enjoy.

Too bad the CL wasn't the Type S.

Next time drop it into 3rd gear. And i don't think the integra is a type-r.

I'd have gone 3rd too, you would have pulled ahead faster.

Hahaha, thanks for the advice. I'm still practicing the revmatching, so I don't know if that'd be a good idea going from 6th to 3rd at 75mph without knowing how much to rev.

Hey, a friend of mine has a '97 ITR . . . how do you think some ITR wheels (white with red lettering) would look on a red S2K (just for a week, though, I'm not crazy)?

is it normal to rev match when dropping from 6th to 3rd at highway speeds?

If a CL kicked his butt, it wasn't a TYPE R.

You don't need to double clutch but its a good habit to get into.
