Bolt on stock turbo EVO 8 vs. GT35R WRX STi
#31
something is not right for a properly tuned gt35r sti to run like that, I have driven an STI with a utec(spelling?) tuned on a stock turbo pushing 18psi with turbo-xs axle back exhaust and a gutted cat and it seemed as fast as the STI in the video, the car I drove put down 305awhp and runs mid 12's launching it.
The evo was fast but the STI did not have over 400whp, maybe 400 at the crank but not at the wheels.

Funny you should say something like that. I guess everyone is a chump then, because I havent found anyone in 6 years who wont race from a roll. Everyone I know do both, except for the SRT4 guys
Last time I checked, it costs a tad more to for a GT35R with supporting mods on an STi than it does for bolt-ons and cams on an EVO. This race showed a couple things. The shortcomings of the STi obviously, but most importantly, that the powerband and torque is more important than most think. Not all about HP.
In case anyone missed the intro to the video, I am the EVO owner.

I don't race everyone that tries to race me from a roll, sometimes there's just no point.
The race showed nothing, no exact tuning or dollar-for-dollar specs were shown, I could post up similar STi-win viddy's all day long.
