Default BMW Z8

I was stopped at a red light waiting to turn right. I am turning north on broadway in downtown Oklahoma City near Bricktown. I spot, across the road from me, also turning north, waiting in the left hand turn lane, a BMW that I did not recognize. It was unlike anything I had ever seen before. I could tell from the front emblem this was a BMW though. He got the green light first. I turned right on red to get right behind him. It is a BMW Z8. Although I had never seen one before, it looked like a cross between a BMW Z4 and a Jaguar, with the emphasis on the Jaguar. He kind of eyed my S while he made his left turn. You know the look. Its the look you get just before you get into a race with someone, sometimes. We are on a three lane road, and he is in the far right lane. I am in the middle lane. We end up lined up at the first red light we come to. He is reving. I don't rev. I have a feeling I am the under-dog here, but I am going to give it hell when the light turns green. I watch the cross light. It goes Yellow. Here we go. The chump turns right. Damn!

Anybody had any experience with one of these. This is suposed to be a genuine super car. Man they look really sweet. I know he would have waxed my ass. But after his display, he should have at least showed me what he had.

He probably knew you were no threat and just did not want to waste his gas by embarrassing you..but they are special looking in person

He probably would not have turned off if you had given him a good rev back and let him know you were game to race.

Feel lucky you didn't run him with his 394HP. But feel really lucky he didn't race you in the Modena he could have bought for the same price!!!

They have comparable specs and performance to a C5 vette. So he would've walked pretty easily...assuming you're stock. They're amazing cars to see in person...I'd buy one if I had that kind of money.

Beautiful car, I see one every day at work. One of my coworkers has one, an Alpina Z8 (something like 500 produced). In talking about the car, even he admitted that he could have bought more performance for the money but he wanted something unique. The car is definitely that. First time I ever saw LED tails I think was on the Z8.

Is it the automatic version?

Z8's are not too expensive anymore for a used one considering their age (no longer in production). They didn't sell too well when they were out due mainly for their price. And now getting parts is a real pain. I've seen a few around now that the weather has been nice.

I love the Z8. Its styling is just so pure, it reminds me of all the classic British roadsters. I'd take one over a Modena in a second.

z8 is hot. I saw the Alpine (spelling) version at a local dealer. Tuned version I think.
