Default Bmw X5 M series at traffic light

I was at the traffic light posted and I just sat there saw this M series X5 standing there and I was like what the hell is this? I had only seen a X5 before well my ignorance got a wake up call. Right at the traffic light I dumped the clutch at 4000 RPM and totally nailed my launch watching that he was edging forward before the light turned green, around 1st and 2nd gear 3rd gear i pulled maybe 1/4 of a car length but i'd say it was dead even, 4th gear around 7200 RPM he seemed to have been inching on me slightly but very minor i could not see him getting ahead at all, 5th gear around middle the traffic light up ahead turned green, we both slammed on the brakes. Next traffic light turned green he did not race and gave me a thumbs up and said good job. Man I was amazed!!! I have never raced a stock car that has given me such a rip from 0-120 MPH I went and looked up the BMW X5 M series is a Twin turbo X5! tested 0-60 in 4.8 seconds and quarter mile in 12.8@108 MPH, I ran a 13.2@107 this summer on bad tires but sometimes I have managed 13.1@109 MPH with fresh tires. I'm just still amazed at the performance of an SUV, that SUV was keeping up with a coupe sports cars ass.

Oh i'm sorry I don't drive a s2000, i drive a 08 350z, I was just trying to mention to you guys, fellow car enthusiasts that the first time in my life I saw a X5 M series it has like M sign next to the X5 on the back or something like that looked it up online it has 555 HP and 500 torque Twin turbo X 5 the new model possibly released this year. I have never seen them before, I have raced a Bmw X5s and totally demolished them but man this new X5 M is a monster keep your eyes open for it!

Yep they're quick for the big ol boats that they are. What mods do you have done on your Z...they don't trap at 109mph in stock form?

BMW doesn't mess around much with M-series stuff.

You should get some modifications in place on your Z and see what happens...

Nah man he would have beaten me in top end fo sure! I'm pretty sure around 130 MPH he would have walked me but yeah that was a ridiculous race, I have never seen a SUV perform so viciously! I was very pleased with his car we gave each other thumbs ups and props, awesome race. One of the best I have ever had in my life. but yeah i'm not trying to do any mods, i'm just trying to stay stock, i have no interest in getting faster.

don't sell yourself short just yet...you have to keep in mind that, by the time you hit ~130mph, his aerodynamics (or lack thereof) are going to affect him much more than your aero will affect you (your car is designed to cut through the wind much better than an SUV). all other things being equal, i would have given him the nod in the triple digits too (especially with such a significant power advantage)...but his aero sucks and will kill him up top. just some food for thought...

Nearly anything with an M badge = fa$t.

BMW is one of the few mfgrs now that still take their performance category serious, and with it a serious standard.
