Default Awesome runs against a DSM and an M3

It has been a while since I played and the STi was just asking for it...so, out I went.

First run against an 02 M3. We did several runs:

1. From a roll about 40mph...even for about 2 seconds, then the M3 would slowly pull... He had an intake and a full exhaust. I have no muffler and gutted piping.
2. From a dig...I would only pull about 1/2 to 3/4 of a car...would hold that lead to about 60 or so...by 100 he would be side by side with me...by 120 he would have about a car on me...shut off.

The results were exactly as I had expected them. This happened a few days ago and the temperature was ideal for turbo cars...we went to play in some twisties and the M3 could simply not keep up with the STi...this is probably all driver....hehehehe.

Now...against a DSM...I want to say it was a 97/98 GSX running 17 lbs. of boost and sporting all sorts of goodies. We ran twice out of a dig. The first run he had me by about 1/2 a car by 3rd gear we were dead even and after 120 I would slowly inch away. The second run we were dead even out of the hole...I managed to put about a car by 100....

Lots of save fun! .... Oh yeah, I had a passenger with me...she was all wet by the time we got done...

Nice Angel!

Sounds like fun....I am hoping to acquire a WRX soon for a daily driver, but doubtful it will be the STi version.

Nice runs, STi is a good run against the M3. B4 I totalled my M3 my buddy John picked up a 05 White Sti, I pulled away from him no problem, never raced a heavily modded one, but have seen modded STi's put the stomp on E55 AMG's. So I know where I would've stood.

it is amazing what a little "gutting" can do on the STi. I have raced one completely stock and I was able to put a couple of car lengths by 100mph or so. No engine light, nothing...just a more aggressive sound and a little tad faster...

does the STI have 3 or 4 cats like the WRX? im sure taking all that off really helps the HP.

i used to own a dsm. 3 actually. a '90 awd talon, a '93 awd talon, and a '98 fwd eclipse. very fun cars, and can be made real quick for real cheap. they always gave me headaches though, so i settled down for something a little more reliable.

I had a 95 GS-T and a 98 (or 97...I forget...) GSX...the GST was very reliable but I only had the intake and the full exhaust. The GSX...#)$*#* crank walk and just about everything fell apart at 12,000 miles...yuck!

But, yes, I have seen a bunch of them that are pretty sick!
