Default anyone's SO stop them from racing?

my SO doesn't like it when I race other cars. "what do you have to prove?". Nothing to prove really; just fun to do that.
two wasted potential races in two days.

yesterday: lined up with a VW Jetta (year?) at a light and he gave me a little stare. I drove off slightly quickly and I heard him went full throttle. He wasn't pulling away that quickly so I started to go also, but....
"I don't like it when you race other cars"
"but...."
"don't race other cars when I'm with you"
Damn! Lost to a Jetta.

tonight: midnight (1/2 hour ago) I was dropping her off. On the way there, I pulled up next to a silver Viper (the 500hp version). The 2 lanes will merge into one after the red light so one car has to pull ahead. I started pulling away rather quickly just to see what the Viper will do. Vroomm, he shot ahead - nice. I gave a little chase and he took a left quickly at the next green light - same direction I was going. I chased him again. She gave me a look and said "slow down!!" in a tone that meant business. Game over. The Viper got away. I know I never had a chance but it'd be fun to chase that Viper for a while. you don't have chances to run like that too often.

I'm so whipped it's not even funny.

Or race on a track, not on the streets.

My wife is the same way. I'll warn you now, if you don't stop racing that junk is going to come up in a fight one day and she is going to throw it in your face, yada yada yada. I hear it on a weekly basis. My wife has sworn thousands of time she will never ride with me in the S.

Finally, I told her that I would meet her 75% of the way. In other words I will turn down 3 races out of every 4 when she is in the car. So now I just have to pick them wisely. No more dusting Toyota Corollas for the hell of it

My girl get on me too but at the same time when ricers and other complete idiots rev on me and launch a bit she will give me the nod to give them the business.

She still does not like curves yet though LOL

I've got a solution for ya. You need a kid.

Two things will happen. One, your SO won't be a passenger in the S for several years afterwards so you're good to go. Two, your desire to race will go down somewhat (notice I said somewhat) because the potential consequences become more significant.
