...and when it's a fairly even race, the driver who honked ends up "winning" by a car length or something at 100mph. hmm.
there are several threads where two drivers make 3 or 4 runs, and they alternate on who gives the 3 honks, and the person honking gets on it first (mashes the throttle a half a second before the other driver) and "wins." everyone here gives them a pat on the back, etc, but it's like...you didn't really "win," but rather, you just gave yourself a little head start.
maybe i'm just really bored right now and can't think of anything else to post, but it seems a bit dumb to me.

well its because when you are honking you know when to go...you have a .5 to 1 sec headstart cause you actually know when you do the 3rd honk...the other driver has to wait for the honk, also the other driver doesnt exactly know when you are going to do the 3rd one.....

That little jump can turn out to be a big factor in a street race with cars who are very similar in performance. When I was into it more, I would make sure the car I was running NEVER got the jump on me...If I could anyway. That split second could turn out to be a car length by the end of the race.
