ok here it is the first time i raced my freinds sti it was from a stop anf he raped me OZ style, the second time was from about 20 mph-80 and he had me by 4 cars (or less)...
Well i told him about this thread and we decided to hit the Garden State Parkway and go from 70, well you guys were right were dead even till about 95 and i slowly pulled on him ended up 2 car lengths at around120. I never realized how bad those things struggle after 80 mph, I knew the evo has the same problem but thought the sti wouldnt have that problem.
So i apologize and im owned!

He's modding huh, that sux...I've heard that with just downpipe and exhaust they run even if not faster then the S up top.

i almost had a chance to race an STI tonight if it wasn't for a stoopid bystander in front of him. i was going home after driving for a while and ended up in the turn lane behind a silver one. looked stock and after the turn i got in the next lane and just slowly passed (cuz of that person in front). sure enough, as soon as my nose passed his he downshifted and blew off on the bystander's ass ( ). when i started to pass again i downshifted and pulled (from 50), leaving enough space for him to get around the other guy and he did but there was traffic ahead so i just slowed and he passed me and we went our separate ways. so dissappointing...

is 80mph really the breaking point in determining the STis top speed? if so, please list your sources of information. i really wish i was stock right now to see if this is in fact true.
STis trap 103mph in the quarter, what does the S do?

S2000's trap in the 101-102 range for those that can drive.
and 80 is a rough estimate. as noted it can stay even with the STi from a roll at speeds at or near 75-80. above that and the S2000 pulls.
