Well, looks like I am getting lucky these days. I have two different street encounters to tell.

First one was against a blue Z06, beautiful car. I am cruising in a low gear because I love to hear the engine. I think I was in 3rd or 4th I can't remember. Anyway, I am in the slow lane just chillin. I see two yellow lights coming up quickly from behind. I figure it is a F-body of some sort; NOPE it was the mighty ZO6. It was a younger guy in the car with sunglasses. He kinda paused when he passed me as if to say what is that? But he kept on trucking for maybe another 2 or 4 miles, and then he slowed down. I was getting very giddy at this point. Well of course I catch up to him. He then got into the fast lane sort of like a reverse pass. Anyway, when I get beside him he punches it. Of course I am in the right gear, so no need to downshift and I take off after him. He maybe had a car to a car and half lead on me before I started to reel him. I passed him pretty quickly. I don't think he expected it b/c he wanted to go again. Did I oblige

Nice kills.
BTW, when does the boost starts to taper off on your XT? On my STI, it starts to taper off around 6K or so.

Thanks...

Yeah power drops off around 5900 to 6100 rpms. I don't have a boost gauge but that is when it seems power delievery slows down considerably.

A XT is a 5 door Subaru wagon.

Good thing you're still part of the gang.

Wow, now that is a sleeper! Thanks for the link, great information. I still have to get one more project car before I start modding. Ever since we sold our S2000 life has not been the same
Since the XT is the committed family car I have been advised to slowly mod by a higher force (wife)

Yeah, I was in a dilemma it was the RX-7 or the S2000, but the RX-7 just has so much history. Even though some of it is BAD (read: crappy tuner) history. The RX-7 will stay...I promise

I'm reading the Farrell vs Monsen debacle again for entertainment.

Single-turbo RX7? No wonder you whopped that Z06. I don't know much about a single-turbo RX7, but I've seen a properly tuned single-t Supra race with a Z06, and the Supra annihilated that Z06 like a fighter jet passing a car. You should go race a single Supra for fun.

Yeah, that discussion was something else. I am still in awe the guy is still in business with the lawsuit and with all his "tuned" cars breaking down in the magazine comparisons. Who would want him to work on their car??

Single turbo Supras scare me... Though, I'd like to give one a shot. The problem with those are you never know if you are running a 500 or 800 hp car....until he passes you like a tornado. I did race a BPU supra a while back. I am not sure what he had except an exhaust and a front mount. I beat him pretty good.
