I was driving my accord v6 6 spd manual tonight. I was stopped at a light where the road was three lanes. Pass the light the right lane would merge into the middle lane. So at the light, it was a van in the left lane, me in the middle lane, and then an rx8 pulls up in the right lane. I'm assuming he knew that the right lane was going to merge so he revved up, challenging me. When the light hit green we both stepped on it and I immediately switched into the left lane since the rx8 and I were neck to neck. I swear I was with him the whole time and I couldn't believe it. We shut down at about 80, but I thought these cars could keep up with S2000? Anyone know how fast a good driver could bring it 0-60?

no no no. that seems like an expected outcome. i raced an rx8 from a dig and put 2 car lengths on him by 70mph. as you climb higher, it only gets worse.

The two are about the same in a straight line. And the RX8 better really watch out if he doesn't launch hard because Accords added torque.

I'm pretty sure I didn't race an auto. I could hear the shiftings and it sounded like a manual. I'm pretty sure a guy buying an RX8 would never buy an automatic. Those things come with less horsepower and was it a 4 speed gear box?

really? then... it's a bad driver an a slow car at the same time! haha. no, but rx8's aren't really as fast as people make them out to be or promote them to be.

Rx8 keeping up with a S2k? Modified yes but stock for stock, no way and no how. Your 6 speed Accord runs mid 14 second, Rx8 runs mid 14 second but the upper hand goes to the Accord. S2k runs low 14 second so there's no way a stock RX8 will keep up with a stock S. I'd once heard that RX8 (when they first came out) was overrated, said something about only pushing 180whp. I don't know much about the newer ones, I still don't think them newer ones will be able to hang with a stock S.
