You will be able to get him from launch for sure.... Last night we had some private runs and I ran a sti. Launched @ 6.2k rpm. He had a down pipe and pulley he said... I lost by 2.5 cars. That was an sti, so I'm sure you'll be able to get a wrx pretty good.

why do you assume this S2000 owner is in the 14's?
probably because 90% of them are.

you will get pwned off the line, better hope he doesnt know how to do a redline clutch dump......sub 2 second 60 foot times means you will be playing catch-up.

from a roll, should be a drivers race, both high13/low 14 second cars.....my nod goes to the S2K

Id say more than that.

And it was an assumption on my part, but the way he was speaking made me think he was stock, or close to.

So his sub-2 second (i.e. 1.9) 60ft can own my 2.0-2.1 really bad huh?

a properly launched WRX can probably get closer to 1.7 60' times. that's an ass whupping if you get a 2.0-2.1.

as for what they actually run, unless he's willing to do a high rpm clutch slip launch, he won't get a 1.7. and you'll beat him easily.

did you get that 2.0-2.1 at the track with some nice tarmac....the street isnt as nice as the track, hence my reasoning. each tenth is about half a car to a car, from what I have noticed in my 4 years of going to the track and my 60 track passes.

this wrx is probably at 240whp if tuned, so to the people saying that the S would kill the wrx from a roll, i wouldnt be TOO confident. obviously it comes down to driver but 240whp isnt gonna do that bad against a stock S2000 (roll or dig). also, to the comment about redline clutch drops; not a lot of wrx owners will do that knowing about the weak-ass wrx tranny.
