'94 WRX v. '93 2JZ Aristo
So as I'm on my way to the cesspool that is Roppongi my friend and I decide to finally find out who has the faster car. Up until now we had always ribbed each other about it without actually manning up and proving it. His car is a 2JZ powered Aristo with a 4AT. My car is a '94 WRX with a 5MT. Both cars are stock with the exclusion of all the STi parts on mine.
1st run: We line up going 40kph and I begin to brake boost. At the third honk we take off simultaneously and I immediately begin to pull. By the time I hit the 180kph speed governor I was about 3 car lengths ahead.
2nd run: We line up going 70kph, and I wait to hear him go WOT before doing so myself. We were completely tied until I shifted into 3rd and pulled a bumper length. As I shifted into 4th his front bumper ended up at my rear door. As I hit 5th gear he pulled a car length on me. I shifted too slowly going into 5th and it's much taller than the other 4. I began to pull back before we both hit our speed governors with him ahead by half a car.
I'm sure that if both our speeds weren't electronically governed he would get me eventually, but that's not the case so there's no argument there.
I would have a video of this, but the person that was supposed to be recording turned out to not actually have been recording.

damn i'm still in search for the car that i wouldn't get bored of within a year...in the last 4 years i've had 6 cars (only lost money on one of them though )
I would have stopped at the S2000, but I didn't bring it with me. With how cheap and disposable cars are here I'm probably going to go through many more. I'm already considering selling the Subaru.
My camera makes recording video as simple as the push of an obvious button. After the races were over I asked how the vids are and she told me she accidentally only took pictures.

lol i had that camera incident happen to me before too
yeah the gc is fun because it's so light and nimble, but the trade off is spaghetti-made chassis with no rigidity and squeaks and rattles.
plus i want to give v8's a try
