911 turbo (read before you make your assumptions) :)
Nice guy let me make a left turn in front of him, had a really sharp black 911 turbo. Of course, lucky me, I happen to be running pure pump gas, so I was running low boost, 5-6 psi. I was in front of him and when the light went green I kinda rolling started. Went to about 40 or so (pretty much just through first gear), and I saw him kinda far back, but only because I don't think he really saw me take off or anything, wasn't really ready. I was treated to a really nice blow-by, as I had to make a left turn at the next light.. Man, that car sounds SO sweet, I only wish that I had a nice tank of 110 so I could have had some fun, he certainly looked like he was willing.
On another note, Bryan from honolulu is in town with a video camera, he wants a couple pictures and stuff of the car, and hopefully we'll be able to digitize a short video or something so I can show you all what it's like.

IMO with your boost up to 8-10 psi you would probably beat him. I got at chance to drive one about a month ago..1996 3.6 AWD TT(400 hp/400 torque) still sellling for 80k. Killer brakes, susp, handling.firm but not stiff like my car. I would beat this car. I floored it in 2nd and 3rd and it just doenst pull as hard.
1997 Miata FM II turbo Link ECU
Built motor,head work, 20 psi 8000 rpm,4:30 gears
300 rwhp, 2400 lbs

Really doubt that, if the 911 driver knows how to drive, he stands no chance. Lets see:
From a standstill, the s2k weighs less, but the 911 is AWD and can take off like a plane.
At highway speeds, it becomes a race of HP and gearing vs Drag mostly. The 911 has a little more HP + its drag rating is considerably lower at 0.34 compared to the s2ks 0.38.
So unless there is a difference in skill, that S2k will not pass that 911.

Can we just admire the fact that ChrisD's S2000 can actually compete with a 911 TT.
That is a accomplishment just by itself....
P.S. When the heck am I going to see this beast at a Tampa meet?!?

It seems that even he admitted that they have more HP (not to mention torque) when he's running rage gas and running 10psi.
p.s. I think they sound very tame with stock exhaust.

I suggest just looking at some 1/4 times. The typical 993 Turbo runs somewhere in the mid 12's at around 115-116 mph. Certainly some have run faster, but given Chris' trap speeds I think he would make things very interesting. The 911 turbo, because of its big rear wing and wide body styling has a lot more drag than the regular 911s and the AWD system and big tires sap more power. I'm not saying Chris could beat one, but he'd be close enough to make the Porsche driver sweat, especially from a mid speed roll. Given that Chris is already running strong 12's without a good launch, he might even be able to make a standing start race interesting with more practice, better tires.

yes basicly we are talking 1/4 mile times..stop light to stoplight and so on...where it might be competative.
The 911 TT hp will really show once you're in the upper 100's
I have video's of 911's TT running the 1/4 mile and the fastest stock one is running 12.2's several run sround 12.8's @ 114 mph.
If Derrick G tech #'s are close to actual #'s then he would beat one also.
Both my buddies vipers feel much stronger than the 96 tt porsche. The RT /10 owner drove my car at low boost and wasnt sure if his viper could beat it.
I love the TT just as much as the next guy..and really think their strongest points are on a track or road course...IMO straight line drags is a little overrated.
