i dont see how the car shifting 300 later than it does in auto mode makes it run a full second faster in the 1320. for example, i own a TSX with a 5AT with the "manuel" mode. i can shift the car a little higher, but not enough to make any kind of difference. i know it totally different, but it just make sense to me.

Torque at the wheels: T R Gk / d/2

Auto 350Z (rear3 .357), ignoring the extra losses with the auto, the ratio change zaps just over 10% of the torque in 1st gear, 7% 2nd, 15% in 3rd, etc.

Gear--------OVERALL
3.54 11.88378
2.264 7.600248

0.834 2.799738

M6 Z (rear 3.538)

well honestly I dont know about all the science behind loss of torque and etc etc, but just stating, the 350z autos have hit just as high times as the manuals have. BUTTTTT not in as many numbers. with the whole thingy on your gears u posted I have no idea how I Run the times I run but it happens and im happy with it. there is no reason to really argue this since ur saying the auto should be a slow dog but people are putting up slips to prove they arent.

i do run 13.6- 13.8 at the track trapping 102 so that means that I should beat most s2k's so I dont wanna hear any of the, oh if he was a better driver blah blah.
We can post slips of such times... Wisconsin S2k, wanna help out here?

How bout you post your slips and prove it.

Being that I've beaten a 6MT Z with my S and that with my 6MT Z I murdered my friend's auto Z, I find it rather unlikely that you're going around killing S's.

Your lack of understanding of how your own tranny works combined with the fact that you're driving an auto to begin with also leads me to have trouble believing that you're putting down 13.6's. You rarely see good drivers with poor understanding of how their machines work.

Sounds to me like you're trying to convince yourself as much as you're trying to convince us.

Yes, there is a way to play around with an auto, it's called loading up the torque converter. Problem is if you do this in a Z you'll lay some nice long stripes down and be slow as a turd.

If there is some other magical trick please explain it better than you have. If you can do it, it shouldn't be a problem to explain it.

No, I've never watched Initial D though I have heard of it. I prefer to live in the real world...
