2000 S2K vs 04 WRX STi
I have had my S2000 for about 3 weeks now and I'm loving it allready. I usually shift at 2500 rpm and baby it, however, two nights ago was a bit of an exception.
I was coming home the other night and before I entered onto the interstate a WRX STi plulled up, revvvved at me, his blow off valve screamed, and he took off. Well.... I put her in second and went after him. As we got onto the interstate, he was about 10 car lengths ahead of me when i saw his rear buckle down, so i figure he was gettin on it. He takes off and I shift to third, landing at about 6500 rpm (vtec) and begin to pull instantly. From the time it took me to get from 60mph to 110mph, i was at his back door and still pulling hard before I had to slow down due to thick traffic.
Is this possible? A 240 hp stock S2000 pulling that hard on a slightly modded STi?
Please send feedback, because I'm interested in knowing more about the performance end of my new car. This may have not been an STi. But it was for sure a WRX with an STi wing. I didnt think to check the back. I only assumed it was at the time because of its looks.

LOL, yeah maybe he got on it for 1 second then let off. If he was 10 cars ahead and you reeled him in that easily...he wasnt racing, believe me.
I know for a fact that if I were 10 car lenghts ahead of our S2K with our EVO, the S wouldnt even come close...as a matter of fact, the lead would only get bigger especially if the EVO was to take off first.
He was just messing with you

I knew it. This confirms that the STI and Evo (esp. Quik's Evo) are extremely slow.
Regardless of what car it was, I don't think it's possible to reel in any car from 10 car lengths behind starting from 60-110 mph, if the other car was gunning it; irrelevant of what the other car is.

Sounds like he had nothing more to prove. I'm sure there is a post somewhere on the STI boards about beating an S2K and then the S2K doing a ricer flyby at the end.
All in all, good run though. A S/C might get you close, but it's still nowhere near a gimme since there aren't too many stock STI's around.

Allright, cool. I had a feeling it wasnt an STi. I wasnt hatin on it either. AND NO..I didnt do a ricer fly by or whatever. Like I said, I never even passed him, i was just catchin up and slowed down due to traffic. I was just curious, it must have not been the sti or he wasnt gettin on it. Again, Ive only had the car for 2 or 3 weeks and am still just curious about what it can do. I would like a S/C, but little did I know when i bought the car, that everything for it is alot more expensive then other stuff for other cars. Is the price for about everything jacked up for the S2000s or am I just looking at the wrong places? Thanks for the posts.
