I don't think that a 350Z is so much faster that it can play around with you and not go all out. It's the same reason you couldn't catch up after he got the jump on you. If you both accelerate at near the same rate when going all out then his jump means that there's no way for you to catch up.
Okay, I see what you're saying . Daing, I wonder if that's how fast I look when I downshift and overtake a slow car in the fast lane.

Maybe it was an automatic? He took that turn kinda fast for an auto though...with an automatic i don't think he woulda been in the right gear to even be close to me on that turn.

Nice one Ben! I used to race my friends G35 Every day! We worked at the same place down in the OC and we would come across each other at the same time and at the same place. (110 and 405 S) every day.

He could never touch me though, he had the automatic, however I would literally spank him by 4-5 cars each time! and he would never give up.
LMAO! sweet! . That's pretty sad, they never give up...haha

I know racing on the street is a pretty big no-no, but when there's no other cars on the highway, and it's a formidable opponent, you can't help but go for it. That's why I'm thinking about buying a blower. I'm back on my stock wheels now, so sleeper-setup ftw! haha

Wow you car must be fast....My Bro'd got a 05 Base 350Z with Nismo LSD, other than that it's stock.

From a standing start I will take him all the way thru 4th but after that he comes flyin by after 100mph. I think after the 1/4 mile the Z's got us.

We've run each other multiple times and he's run multiple S's with the same result no matter what year S. ( All freinds )

At Button Willow we did the lead follow thing and if I was in front I left him so far after the corners that he can never catch me on the straights. But if he was leading I would be all over him untill we hit the bus stop and front straight. Those were the only two spots he could get away. It was a real good gadge on where the S was faster and where the Z was faster.

Over all we compared lap times too and he as was always 4 to 5 sec. slower.

From what I've seen Z's are Fast Top end!

4 to 5 sec on the track? Is the S really that much better on a road course? Or are you just a better driver?

I onno, I think my 70mm exhaust helped. But I do know Z's have rediculous top end for stock.
