cobra is a better car to mod than the z06 mainly cuz the cobra has a stronger motor and is boosted already. really easy to make go fast. handling is nice to have but the cobra aint too shabby. plus the cobra is more practical..can fit stuff inside of it, 4 seats and a larger trunk
z06 tho is a special car to me. i want one since they came out. loved the 99 FRC vettes and then the z06 came out.
but the numbers look pretty good. should have more in it with more tuning on that 18psi. 600whp definately
but i wouldnt do heads and cam then boost. if your gonna go n/a then go heads and cam... else just boost it with no other mods except maybe a bolt on or two. boosting 5.5 psi will easily get it up to 450-500whp on the stock block and i wouldnt run much more than that without internal work. adding heads and cam will make 400-450whp dependin on cam/heads combo and boosting that for an extra 50-100whp is kinda pointless. you'll only need like 3psi and lowest i seen was 5.5 from procharger

lol fully forged motor compared to a n/a motor with weaker cast parts
the cobra motor is a heck of a lot stronger than the Z06 LS6 motor. the new LS7 is fairly strong motor but still a n/a motor with limits probly below that of the cobra.
teh old terminators rods are good for near 700whp, pistons near the same, but the crank is good till 1000. LS6 has handled near 700hp but thats pushing it. the motor is livin on borrowed time. most blower kits only designed to make 450-500whp on a lsx motor. that kind of power is just alot of force on those internals.

Is the Cobra motor really stronger than the Z06 motor? My intuition tells me otherwise.

Well what were going to do is run a smaller pulley and get a better tune on the Cobra. I talked to another tuner and he said the most boost I should be running is 17 psi on 91. He said he could easily make 575-600 whp on 17 psi and no other problems like i have now (hesitation, pinging etc)
As for motors the Cobra motor is a beast which is why I got the car, i knew it could handle about anything I throw at it. We'll see though what happens as far as the Vette goes, cams, heads, lt's and a tune migth be coming very soon.

^Lol, and you need to get a car that can stay together after a run
LOL, you know im just messin with ya Kevin. Its funny cuz I just went to WORKS the other day one of my friends is doing a twin turbo setup on his Mustang and he's using the Evo8 16g's WORKS happened to have 2 laying around with low miles so he picked those up. That car is going to be crazy, building the motor and going to run like 15 psi for DD and like 20 or so at the track.

The 03-04 Cobras are beasts. But when they first came out I swapped rides with my Z06 at an auto-x course. There was no contest, even the new Cobra owner agreed. For a sense of agility, and real lap times, the Z06 dominated.
Of course when we got to the drag strip it was a whole different story. My Z06 was stock (for purpose of auto-x) and not even ONE Cobra was stock. Five for five I met that day had I/E/Chip/tires mods. I was turning high 12's and they were running low 12's, some just touching 12.0's.

Lol, yeah I would never argue that. The Cobra handles good enough for me, im not into twisties, if i was I would have kept the Evo I have to say I like driving the Cobra more than I do the Z06, I just feel more comfortable in it, and the KB helps too I cant wait to get my NX kit installed a nice 100 shot on top of my 575-600 whp will be sweet

Lol, yeah its getting close, but it will be fine. Believe me, I work (part time, so to speak) for one of the best Mustang/Lightning shops around and the owner Billy assures me a 100 shot will be perfect. Only thing that sux is he doesnt tune, I mean he does a bit, but he doesnt have a dyno, but were moving into a new shop since business is growing pretty quick, so he may buy a dyno and become and authorized tuner for SCT. Were all pretty excited about that. Also if my motor goes I get everything at cost and labor is essentially free since my Cobra is the shops show vehicle. If the motor goes I may sell the KB and go TT
