coincidentally i got to do some pulls with a '05 STI this past weekend. I don't know if's just that a lot of my power is more top-end but after a super slow start I took off after about 4th gear. STI took off from the start like a bat out of hell but seemed to slow down at higher speeds....

nothing a boost controller won't take care of though.

Yeah I dont know if I have a strong Evo, I may...I know a guy that raced an STi with the same mods as me and a MBC and barely beat it, he said they were pretty much even, and when I raced the STi (before my ECU Flash) I beat him by a good 3 cars so maybe my cars is a bit stronger.

As mentioned I dont know about the STi, since the turbo is smaller than the Evo's but in the Evo it starts to slow down top end because the boost tapers, a MBC easily cures that. Believe me an Evo with a MBC or Flash where boost holds till redline is like night and day. I couldnt believe how hard my car was pulling above 6K rpm, where it would pretty much just slow down/not pull after the flash.

I agree with Quik_S2K, don't underestimate the STi on top-end. AWD cars having a weak top-end isn't quite an absolute myth, but some people expect them to literally puke and die up top, and thats not going to happen. I think it'll be close, good luck...and post your results.

race the STi today from a roll at 20 mph. 1st gear pull on it by a fender 2nd and 3rd about half a car. We stop by the end 3rd. He was very suprise

Also race an Evo tonight. From a roll he took of first so he got a car on me but than by the end of 3rd i caught up right next to him and by the end of 4th i had a car on him. I guess he couldn't drive cause i heard Evo are pretty fast to

Did some highway runs with my friends stock EVO in third and we were dead even until about 120. My car is stock too. i was suprised myself.

I was suprised that our cars kept up. I guess I should have gone faster to see what would happen but it was raining and I have racing tires on my car. Plus I am not that eager to push it on public streets with the amounts of tickets I get.
