You know I hardly come over to street encounters anymore. But I took a glance at about 5 threads and I have to say there are to many newbie/kids (s2ki age under 50 days) that think this car is as fast as a formula 1 car and can take out Ferrari's etc. Thats a bunch of crap. Wisconsins2k is cleaning up a lot of this and I commend him for that.
Please take your 8 second S2000's back to Honda Tech. Please do us that favor.
Sorry to get off topic here but you closed that other thread. Anyway good job Wisconsin.

I agree. Unfortunately as the resale value of these cars decline with age you are going to see even more teenage owners.

Most of them bring over their Honda Tech/Integra/Civic experience and think they can fit right in. Wake up call folks. FWD Integras are totally different from a RWD sports car. Thats the bottom line. I see so many of these younger people speaking as if they have owned the car for years and they are the S2000 specialist. They are far from it. I have seen so many posts that are just crazy. From running 14-15 inch FWD setup wheels on this car to boosting 26 pounds on stock internals with a turbo.
What can you do? Nothing because its going to keep on going but we can educate/correct them and thats what we do here.

Are you even an owner?
What could that info possibly have to do with my statement about decreasing used S2000 prices? Are you going to disagree or would you like to change the subject to what I drive rather than the content of my post?
The car has been out since 2000 and the pre-owned pricing has clearly been falling. The car retails in the 30's and used cars remained in the 20's for the first several years of production. However, pricing in the teens is common now and "teens" are clearly snapping them up. (just read a few of the "age" threads in "S2000 Talk" if you need proof)
The S2000 is an incredible performance machine (even more so when you consider the pricing). That being said every car has it's limitations and the litany of recent threads claiming performance parity (light or no mods) with cars like the F355, 996/997, E46 M3's, and C5's is getting a little silly. I'm not talking about the guys that realize they got lucky with a bad driver. Rather, the posters who truly believe some of these match-ups are close to even.
If you drive a few of these cars (rather than read about them in magazines) the differences become very clear.
Instead I read posts from kids (seemingly) that grew up driving front wheel drive cars but learned what they think they know watching F&F and playing GT3 (once again not all, but some). They believe that because they can push the go pedal really hard and snap off a few "power shifts" that they can really drive. Unfortunately, when the rear end gets light their true driving skills are often revealed with dark results.
The S2000 is an incredible car and I have witnessed (and rode in) them turning great times at the track (DE's and autocrosses). (Both of which are much better places to hone car control skills and explore limit than the "street"). Too bad many here seem to think the street is the track.....

shet, an older 385 hp z06, will barely run a 12.90.
You really need to stop pulling numbers out of your ass or making up BS stories to fit your feeble argument, like you saying your best friend having world's fastest NSX without any means to support your claim and that he also owns a dyno shop and yet you don't have a dyno sheet to support fictitious hp your car is supposedly have.
