00 s2k vs. 06 350z
Well, i just purchased my S2k about 2 weeks ago. I went to the track last saturday and ran a 14.1 at 98 mph with a 1.9 60ft...
I wish i could afford to do some more mods to this thing, but anyways a friend of mine has a 06 350z enthusiast, (a base with lsd basically)
he wanted to go from a dig, i have only ever launched this car 4 times, but i also love going from digs.
So we take off, i launch about 1/2 car on him, but then it dropped below vtec and he caught right back up, then i hit 6k and we stayed side by side...slammed second same, slammed 3rd we were still door to door.
I was like SHIT, i didnt wanna shut down until i started pulling. well needless to say at 135 we were still literally side by side and noone could pull even inches away. He hit his governor so we stopped.
This all took place on a closed road so no worries!!!
does this sound about right to you guys?

Sounds right, our cars are fairly evenly matched. The Z has more power, but has more weight to lug around. We have less power, but better gearing and less weight to balance it out.

with equal drivers in both cars, what should win from a dig? or from say most roll situations as well?
ive seen a lot of vids where the Z just pulls away, i was like no i cannot let that happen haha.

yeah it was weird, like in 2nd n 3rd i would put like 2" on him, then 4th and 5th he got them back, but then he shifted into i would imagine 5 or 6th and didnt move after that.
if i got gears would it still be helping up top, you said he should have started inching.
being that he didnt. at those speeds with gears would it still be benificial or no?
im also hesitant about gears because i would like to go FI

gears will help at all speeds. The help is just much greater and much more noticeable at lower speeds. Ask anyone with gears (4.44,4.56/7,4.77) they will all tell you they see a great difference. check the gear calculator

you can see the difference on paper.
