Sounds like you have a good setup to keep the wing from doing any damage. How does the car feel? Any under steer at high speed?

Keep in mind that the front ARB will affect low speed handling too. Start with the reduction in aoa and a splitter. I tried a monster 5 inch splitter but it generated too much drag. I was about 2 seconds a lap quicker when I replaced it with a splitter that protruded 1.5 inches from the nose--max for Honda Challenge. Quarter inch plywood is plenty strong for a short splitter and no support rods are required. They're easy to replace when they get ripped off while off roading.

Before, I was on Star Specs (255 square) and now I'm on RA-1's (255 square). With the tires and rear wing, I was running 2.5 seconds quicker around Nashville SuperSpeedway (1.3 mile course) in much less ideal conditions. On my old setup I was running in the high 1:12's. This last event I was running in the mid 1:10's with a passenger in 34 degree weather (only had timing equipment for 1 session).
Once I get everything dialed in and get some warmer temps, I think 1:09's are reasonable. With the right driver, I think the car can run in the 1:08's.
This is my first time on r-comps also. I know I'm leaving a lot of time out on track. I'm slowly working my speed up.

I normally make my splitters in batches of 3 from one sheet. They're easy to make as long as you have one to use as a template for the mounting holes. Put a good brush-on primer on first, then paint it any way you want. A good primer will hide the wood grain and keep it from looking so back woods.
