ditto, I'm interested as well.

I've nearly read the entire book (except aerodynamics/cooling) three times. Not really something you read once, you must read it over and over. I'd like to pick up some more books as well, suspension dynamics are great!

I agree. A lot of other later books refer to this book by Fred Puhn as a "bible" of sorts. I am sure vehicle dynamics has not much changed since 1976. Easy reading.

I don't remember what they were exactly, but mainly some of this explanations/rational/causes/effects of suspension dampers and what they do were wrong. Mark Ortiz actually wrote an article in RCE magazine awhile back that went over what Smith was wrong about.

But like I said, 98% of what CS wrote is right on the money, and IMO they're still the best books out there.

If you want to post a particular sentence/section from his book that you're unsure about, I'd be happy to offer my .02 on it.

I've found a lack of publications that talk in detail about damper design, function and tuning. RCVD, for all its depth, nearly glosses over the Damper section and left me wanting much more.

OP: If you are interested, in my search for articles/info specifically regarding dampers, I have found and saved a lot of material from around the internet. Some of the best stuff has been from class-room type material, and others are PDF snippets (such as the Mark Ortiz articles). I can email them in a zip file if you're interested, you can PM me if you like.
