Willowspring "BIG TRACK" event Jan 10 & 11
#31
Ry, I'd try to get a ride with Dearing who seems to have this track well figured out, not just for Vipers but even for low-HP rentals. Heard he ran a 1:31 on street tires on Sunday.
Erik, what were your times?

Ry, that's not too bad, was the car on slicks?
(I'm certainly no WSIR expert, but here's my $.02)
The bobbles in the middle of 1 and 3 definitely cost you some time. Your turn-in for 3 looked to be a little late; there's some pretty advantageous banking there that I think you kinda drove around by turning in where you did.
Your line through 5 and 6 looked good to me. Just remember that anytime you're sawing at the wheel, you're not cornering or accelerating as fast as you could be.
I think you could've taken 8 a little tighter - it's bumpier but you end up traveling less distance. In the 8->9 transition, it appears you kinda waffle the pedal for a while after the 5->4 downshift; I'd try to make it one decisive brake, downshift, resume max cornering/full throttle sort of dance. And we won't talk about how far off the T9 apex you were...
Karner, I know what you mean about T8. I decided to start building wings after losing it at a measly 115 there. As much fun as T8 is with no aero, you should try it with just a front splitter and stock suspension (including swaybars) on 225/245's!
How did everyone else run?

My ffing hot lap timer was working wacky, it was picking up about 4 beacons a lap. I felt like committing suicide on the track. This shit always happen when I don't setup my own beacon.
I think my best was in the low 1:38's, fully treaded cheap Sumitomo street tires.
I drove Rylan's car one session, it feels like a lot of fun. Brakes are so good it was screwing up my laptimes, as I was stopping way too early. His wrap around seat sucks for me, as the wrap around piece sits up in my armpit, making it tough to steer the car (and certainly bad for any quick corrections that may be needed).
Coincidentally, HIS hot lap said I did a 1:32.9, which I felt was off by a couple of seconds, and it looks like his video confirms it was off by 2 seconds, with me running a 1:34.x

AMB needs to be standard item every time you get on the track!

I managed 1:31.7 on my second session out on Saturday. I'm still lifting before going into T2 and it still feels like i brake too much for T1 even tho i'm running out of trackon the exit... I guess i need to turn in a hair latter.
