Do you by any chance remember if this was a single or a dual?
This was a single. This was on ploney's recently totalled CR. I just remembered that he had a bullet-type resonator welded into the middle of the exhaust.

The J's 60RS was the first version with the longer muffler canister, not the FX60RS version. It was also surprisingly quiet in the car with the top up. After I heard it, I wanted to get one for my car but read that it wouldn't fit on the 06+ AP2s.

I've run Skunk2 Racing Megapower exhausts without either of the silencers in at both San Diego events at Qualcomm and Cal Club events, including this years divisionals at El Toro. Didn't get busted.

Everyone tells me they are one of the loudest and best sounding "brand name" exhausts when I go to the track.

Sorry, can you clarify? Do you mean silencer in or out? Also, I assume you're talking about the Racing Ti-C, not the Turbo Ti-C.

Thanks!

Some people say its supposed to be 20 inches at a 45 degree angle from the tip of the exhaust which even the stock exhaust wouldn't pass.
This is how the state referee tests the db limit of exhausts in CA. I know because I witnessed them do it to my car first hand. FYI The stock does pass under 96 db. It's like 94.5 db at 6550 rpms held for 3-4 seconds. I think for AP2's it would be 5550 rpms since redline is 8k. The state referee also tests both exhaust tips to make sure they pass. You also cannot have anything modified from the header back.

Legal: Buddy Club Spec 3

I ran the Buddy Club Spec 3 on my AP1 this year with no problems at the Finger Lakes National Tour and 2010 Solo National Championships. It is a loud exhaust however and I did run in to problems once at a regional event. For those of you guys that are on the fence with sound, running a proper turndown can lower your sound reading by 2-3 db. I ran an off the shelf Jegs turndown -> http://www.jegs.com/i/JEGS/555/30642/10002/-1?CT=999 and it solved the problem. I'm sorry, but I don't recall my sound readings for the regional event or the national events. You can run a silencer on it, which makes it quieter than stock, but you make NO power with it on. With it off, it's very loud inside the cabin and still very loud outside the car but not as bad. ( I think something about the design of the s2000 cockpit tub sort of amplifies sound as the drone is very bad.)

I believe the BC Spec 3 is the lightest stainless steel exhaust you can buy (my guess is way less than 15lbs), and the cheapest at less than $400 new, though it is definitely a no bullshit race exhaust. Thin walled piping (1mm only), a slip fit muffler etc. It has beautiful computer seem welds on the cat flange and the other pieces, but has very shitty, weak manual welds for the hangers. I've broken 2 welds already and redid them properly. No issues since.

Nick
