Oh, there's plenty... racing where there is a 'no contact' rule.

True statement... but I wasn't necessarily talking about Time Trials. There are racing series' where you race fender-to-fender, you're just not allowed to tap one of those fenders. I believe allot of NASA racing is this way... I'm almost certain the Honda-Challenge is. There are stiff penalties for any contact, whether accidental or not, which is supposed to keep drivers at 9/10ths or below when making passes, and to discourage any 'optimistic' passing attempts or blatant premeditated contact.

This is a pretty competitive environment, but I left them out of my list because I don't know much about these series... they are out there. Maybe someone else can post some info about these series?

And as for Time-Trials not requiring balls? I think they certainly can from time to time... I know that where I was braking for the corkscrew was a big-fat

I agree with your assessments... I just wish some more S2000's would run in some of the classes I mentioned. I think they would do quite well in T2 with some more development time. And certainly Grand-Am STII or SCCA EP. Hmmm... maybe the Mistress will end up in one of these!

What about the TCRA ?

I guess not a major race series, but you could do wheel to wheel racing in an S2000 (if you added a roll bar and other required stuff).

Most "Local Club wheel-to-wheel racing" like TCRA do not allow contact. If you make contact, you are on probation for 13 months, and if you make contact again, you are suspended for 13 months.

I think that NASA rules imply, "No Excessive contact" in their wheel-to-wheel race groups (not their HPDE group). So rubbing is okay.

Most professional wheel-to-wheel racing allows rubbing and contact.
