What is the Best Way To Mount a GoPro on an S2000?
The best videos I've seen have been centered between the seats with the camera at eye level giving the full width of the windshield while also showing the side of the driver's head and their hands. The easiest mount I've seen is a suction cup or dual suction cups to the windshield.
For autocross, what is the best way to mount a GoPro camera?
Thanks,
David

This is a fantastic option. I have used this with the GoPro Frame mount with great success. Definitely recommend The Frame mount if you want good sound from the camera. You will get terrible sound if you mount the camera in the waterproof housing with that mount. The housing amplifies any rattles or noise coming through the car into the mount. You can definitely just do a suction mount to the windshield as well. Inside or outside. If you mount it outside your sound will be pretty terrible from the camera. You don't need more than one suction cup with the go pro it is small and light. The one GoPro sells is rated to well above 100mph when mounted externally.
With a GoPro Hero3 or newer if you are running at 1080p with Med FOV it will give you a nice full view of the windshield and steering, etc. One good tip with the Modifry mount is to adjust the modifry mount so it is angled 90 degrees forward, and then adjust your GoPro 90 degrees back so it sticks slightly further out and sits lower. You will need to get the GoPro tripod mount to use it with the Modify.
This is my favorite option however:
While this looks ridiculous, from inside the helmet the camera is hardly a distraction and it gives a great eye level view. The position in the photo is a bit more exaggerated than necessary. Just want to make sure to turn off the blinking red lights. Without a helmet you can do the same but wear it on your forehead upside down to get the lens closer to eye level, and angle it down slightly. Just like with the Modifry mount, getting the Frame mount for the GoPro is very important for usable sound.
Always run the GoPro with Spot Metering turned on. And always reformat your SD car using the camera between each time using it. Don't delete footage from the card from a computer. If you do make sure to reformat in the camera afterwards.
Hope that helps. I have been using GoPros for many years to film driving stuff and would be happy to provide more info if needed.

@rohde88...I only have the factory "roll bars"...but if a roll bar is fitted it a roll bar mount is undoubtedly the way to go.
@andrewhake That is a very clever S2000 specific mount. It mounts under the windscreen on top of the console using the windscreen's mounting screws.

roll bar has been my best.. However, lately I've been using my GoPro on the nose of the car(I use a ReplayXD Prime X for in car now) just to assist in figuring out how good(or bad) my driving line is.

In this case I'd expect to use the camera in conjunction with Solo Storm. Together I think they will help learning the course and identifying opportunities to improve run to run. Example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Rlgpss0lJk. Jump to 1:02 when the run starts.

This is the same run using both of my cameras. First half is inside the car, second half is on the nose. : https://youtu.be/_OlbLhPjPT8
Disclaimer: The driver (me) needs work.
Also, the issue with Solo Storm that my friends and I were concerned with is having the available time to mess with it during smaller local events.

I have the modifry mount with an old gopro1 on the tripod adapter (which is set to the 135 degree field of view, also available on newer gopros). Here's my video from the autocross you were at this past weekend: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eoCI6WUnuNQ
Personally I think it's perfect, gives a view similar to the one from the driver's seat but you can see driver inputs which I think is key to improvement.

You'll find a variety of camera locations on my Youtube site. The in-car stuff is with a Modifry mount. The others are with a suction cup mount, mostly at the top center of the windshield.
I agree with Jon, the view from between the seats is probably best for critiquing driver input.
