V710s for MY04
I was reading the competition FAQ, looking for information on sizes for MY04s. It mentions a few different combos of 225s, 245/40s, and 275/40s, with 245/40 and 275/40 being the most popular.
It seems that the V710 doesn't come in that size. The closest I could find was 245/45 and 275/40. Would there be any reason why this combo wouldn't be a good choice? Possible clearance issues from the added front height? Too much weight? Too much tire? Not enough wheel width?
The way it looks to me is that it might actually be a better choice than 245/40, because both tire diameters will be the same. It'll keep from jacking up the rear ride height slightly. Using a taller front tire obviously isn't going to affect the gear ratio, so I can't really think of a reason not to try it.
Anyone have any conflicting thoughts?

I think the 245/45 and 275/40 is a better combo than the 245/40. The different OD of the front to rear w/ the 245/40 may trigger the ABS prematurely. Your FD will be affected tho as the 275/40 OD is bigger than stock...you'll be lower your FD, but if you don't mind that, I don't see a problem.

I ran the 225/50/16 and 275/40/17 combo on my AP1 this past weekend; the first time for the car, and my first time on some sticky tires.
I LOVED THEM! It seemed to me to be a very stable platform with the stock suspension, ie, no pushing, and forget about rear accel traction problems, they are gone. Well, almost

I put 80 hard miles on mine, my buddy has around double that on his and he still has some "tread" left.
Im guessing we could get 4-5 of these track days on them, possibly even more.
The one thing that scared me is that around the 18 minute mark of a HARD 20 minute session, they seemed to get VERY soft. They went from feeling like I was on rails to feeling like I was on a very knobby set of snow tires.
I backed off for a lil bit and it seemed to help, but if I, a fairly in-experienced(3 HPDE events) can overheat these tires, they probably are not for any serious racing.

There's been some chatter already here in various threads about them. A quick synopsis is to go for them. I had my first event on them and they felt great. I have no way of comparing them to Victoracers...
