so ironic to have such a meticolously built S2000 with an incredibly fast powerplant and get beat down by a small detail. we all know you'd have killed the competition had you raced. time to load up on spares!

No temp issues at all. Peak oil temp of 267 and peak coolant of 234. It was a fairly cool day though ...

Sounds like temp issues to me. That's pretty damn hot, and if it was a cool day....

I would like to have seen oil at 230-240 and water at 200-210.

But maybe that's just me.

Hmmm ... 267 F is almost exactly 130 C. With the supercharger I consistently saw btwn 130 to 135 C. Didn't have a coolant temp gauge until this year.

I've been told that coolant temp of 230 is fine and not to set the alarm until 240. Alarm for oil temp is set at 275.

What are you seeing with your super charger now?

Where does everyone else have alarms for coolant and oil temp set?

Nothing with anything for the S2000. I'm the ONLY S2000 on track here.

I'm checking with InlinePro and others on coolant and oil temps. Still interested in everyones thoughts here. I posted something on this a few years ago and thought the consensus was around 130 to 135 Celsius was fine.

[QUOTE=msm_s2k,Apr 3 2007, 07:54 AM]With no spare pads and not another S2000 at the track or probably in the state with a set of track pads for me to borrow ... I finished my day watching the race from the hot pits.

I used to always have two sets of backup pads in the small trailer I towed behind the S. I didn't buy new sets of backup pads as ... well ... I was waiting for the Cobalt XBRs.

If there was another person in UT with race pads for the S, I would have called them and been good to go! The track here is just full of Evos, Subbies, bimmers, porsches and miatas.

How are you enjoying the F2000? When do we get details, pics and videos!? Someone here just bought an F1000. I believe that is the cheaper version without all the carbon fiber. He takes deliver this week.

I spoke with a few experts on temps. Consensus was basically the same as what I ended up with when I first posted a few years ago about where to set my oil and coolant temp alarms.
- 130 to 135 C oil (266 to 275 F) as a good range for oil temp alarm
- 110 to 115 C coolant (230 to 240 F) as same for coolant

Average temps I'm seeing are in the 240 to 260 range for oil with peak of 275. Coolant is in the 215 to 225 range with peak of 230.

What are you seeing with your super charger? I'll be surprised if you're not in a very similar range.
