, that is what I was guessing based on this, but perhaps I read it wrong.

To answer the weight question, alternative minimum weight is definitely the way to go, as you actually get quite a bit of free removal before you'll hit it (you could easily remove the passenger seat and the plastic trim behind the seats). I also heard a rumor (from a NASA official) that alternative minimum weight may be the the only way to asses points for weight in the near future.
I'll agree with this. If your region has competent TTD drivers, a TTD S2000 is a bad choice. You just don't have enough points to play with compared to some of the other cars in the class.
I think they erred on the conservative side here since no one had run one before. That said, I believe the current rules probably place the CR in a similiar spot in C as the base S2000 in D: it's just not feasible. A TTC built S2000 will have better tires, a better wing, better suspension, more power, and the same weight as a TTC CR.

I'm late to meet a guy who can hopefully convert my .mov video to .avi, but the only thing one can add to an S2000 is a set of RA-1's no larger than 245mm and be able to stay in TTD, base class. Or you could run street tires and 5pts elsewhere, but you would be killed!

Was looking at the rules and am disappointed that the CR is in TTC**. If i'm reading that right, I can't have a FSB and R-comps (RA1's) without bumping me up to TTB! I don't know if the CR has that much of an advantage out of the box. I could see TTC +7 but +14 seems excessive.

For example:
TTC +7
sway bar +2
235/275 RA1 +9
exhaust +1
=+19

I know there was alot of speculating before, but did anyone get an official answer on the exhaust issue?
catback and test pipe are +2, or +3....
modified or deleted OEM catback are +1...

You could run a 235/255 setup without incurring any additional points.

And this is why you won't see them in Time Trials. They are slightly stiffer. They are only slightly lighter. Since the base class is TTC, a 255 tire can be used without penalty. Since the car comes with a wing, I would try running 255 RA-1's without a fsb and see how it feels. That would leave you in TTC.
