This is the only report I have seen of the V730 being slower than the RS4. For example: GRM shows them as faster than the RS4 but shorter lived. But this is the first report I have read from endurance guys. I wonder if it isn’t faster over a few laps than the RS4 but slower over the course of an endurance race. (Maybe the RS4 handles the abuse better or something?)

I haven't run the RS4, but I can confirm that for sure the V730 is consistently faster than the NT-01 by around 1 second on a 2:00 minute course lap (buttonwillow cw13).

As for the A052, I've said it in other threads (haven't said it here) - I hated them. I found them to be, extremely sensitive to heat, good for only one lap, extremely short lived (9 sessions with 900 street miles driving to/from events), and expensive.

The a052 is a single lap tire imo meant only for TT or autox or some sort of quali. i would never use it as a track day tire, that would be silly

I'm going to give to the new RE71RS a try next, they are supposed to handle heat a bit better than the RE71R and I hope maintain the same steering feel/response. My friend has a set on order so I should have some good feedback on them soon

Also have a few friends getting some for autox and watching them. I really liked the feel of the last RE71R better than the A052. However, we were faster on the A052 so we ran those on the ND1 autocross car at the time. Pricing is still going to prevent me from running them as a track day tire of course. I mean, it is not a competition event and not worth burning up more expensive tires. But really want to see how they play out for autocross.

While I only run local autocrosses with the s2k right now and focus more on track days .... I am toying around with some more serious ideas for XA next year ...

Tire Rack just released their RE-71RS test and sounds like it could be better for track duty vs. autocross.

A052 255's on 10's feels just fine imo, but it takes an adjustment.
255's on a 9 feel awful

Yeah I expect that more wheel would bring the feel back. In STR we were limited to 17X9's of course so that was that I did find them a bit more responsive feeling on the ND1 because we could only fit 245s due to them running wider than previous STR tires.

I've used A052 for track days the past 3 seasons. Usually get similar lap times over 3-lap time trials. I seldom am out for more than 15 minutes in practice sessions, they do fall off after 4-5 laps, but they're not a single-lap tire...

Just ordered RE71RS for Palmer July 2/3, will see how they compare.
