Track safety - Fire
I didn't see it posted here, but is discussed elsewhere. 2 incidents:

GRM article about MX-5 fire at last year's Thunderhills 25 Hours.
Lambo fire. note this happened in front of grand stand, not in middle of nowhere at one of test day with no ambulance crews.
hopefully makes you guys think twice before going out on T-shirt and shorts next time on track.

No, he's not. His legs were destroyed and he's in intensive care. Giorgio something...read about this yesterday.
This type of thing gives me nightmares. I think I am installing a fire suppression system in my car. They are pretty cheap, actually. I saw some graphic pictures from the other side of the grandstand while it was happening. The poor guy was flailing to get his body out of the car. Half his body was out of where the door used to be while his legs, crushed from the impact, were being burned inside the cabin. No hero on the track that day.
Ugh...this makes me so sick. There was a similarly horrific accident in Japan involving a Ferrari and Porsche years ago. The poor guy was maimed by the burns. Awful!

I am running a SPA 6 nozzle, 4L AFFF fire suppression system in my Lemon car. Cheap insurance at only about $350. Not a bad idea for serious HPDEs or TT'ers and pretty much required for W2W guys.

Sorry, my short answer yes, meant, he is alive. Not even close to being ok.
It is a very hard and sad thing to see!
